First, let me say that if you have never been to a fashion show…find one and go! I had so much fun this weekend at the Macy’s Spring Career Fashion Show here in Miami. I headed out to Macy’s at the Dadeland Mall ready to see some cute clothes and possibly do some shopping. When I arrived, the atmosphere was buzzing and I couldn’t wait to take my seat.

The clothes in the show were great. They covered looks for color, occasion, body type and business travel. I was pleasantly surprised to see plus size models in the show too. They really showcased the message  that you can be stylish and professional at any size. All of the looks were simple and all seemed to be really easy to pull off, even for a fashion dummy busy mom like me. The models were beautiful and some made me want to hide in a pint of Hagaan Dazs they were so gorgeous!

I could have watched clothes prance down a runway all afternoon and I was sad to see the show end. But really, this was just the beginning! Macy’s had their expert by-appointment shoppers on hand to help you tap into your inner fashionista. Stations were set up to do complementary polish changes, hair color consultations and make-up application. The refreshments were circulating and it was such a great atmosphere to be in.

The MC of the event was Anetta Nowosielska from Florida International Magazine. Anetta is beautiful and has more fashion sense in her pinky that I do in my whole body. She was a wonderful host and when I stopped by to chat with her she was just lovely. I was curious to know what she thought the biggest difference between career fashion in Miami and career fashion in other parts of the country is. Coming from New York, she thought that Miami has a much more casual sense of style, which took some getting used to. I stayed around a while listening to Anetta dish some other style tips but then I had to look around! The clothes were calling my name. Macy’s had marked all of the racks with clothes from the show so they were easy to find and they had plenty of associates on hand to help.

When it was time to head home I gave one last thank you to the beautiful and talented Anetta, grabbed my swag bag, new shoes and headed home. Yes! I said new shoes! You try going to a fashion show and come home empty handed. Once I got home, it was time to relax and go through all my goodies. Hair care samples, concealer, coupons for spa appointments and an issue of Florida International Magazine. It was a great way to end my first fashion show experience.

This may have been my first show but it certainly won’t be my last. A big thank you to Macy’s and to Anetta for making this such a great afternoon.
***I was compensated for my attendance and review of this event however ALL opinions are my own!
