Welcome to Football Friday! Every Friday I pick a game from the Sunday lineup and provide you with recipes for food and cocktails to entertain your family and friends during the game.
This is week 1! We are all excited for football over here at our house. Fantasy teams are drafted, jersey’s are washed and the trash talking has commenced! Week 1 starts on September 11, 2011 which as all of us are painfully aware of is the 10th anniversary of the attack on the world trade center. This puts us in an especially patriotic mood this weekend and what a better way to show it than by watching some good ol’ American football.

2 Eggs, beaten
5 drops Tabasco sauce
fine cracker crumbs
1 stick Butter (can substitute margarine or oil)
Combine all ingredients except crumbs and butter and mix together lightly. Form into desired size cakes but do not pack firmly then pat lightly with cracker crumbs. Chill for an hour so they are easier to handle.
Heat butter in a large skillet and fry cakes until golden brown on all sides. Drain on paper towels and serve immediately.
We have to represent from Pittsburgh too! What better way to do that then serving up “Rothlesburgers”…slider style!
2 oz vodka
4 oz Sprite® soda
2 oz peach papaya juice
Stir and pour over ice in a high ball glass.
We can’t forget about Baltimore and this week they are packing quite a punch and I’m not just talking about on the football field! If you dare, the…
